Terms of Service

Effective Date: Official Name: LegalHub Operating Company LLC (“LegalHub,” “we,” “us,” or “our”)
Important: These Terms include a binding arbitration agreement and a class action waiver in Section 17. They affect your rights. If you do not agree, do not use LegalHub.

1) Overview

Welcome to LegalHub, an online legal directory and smart marketplace that connects people with independent, third-party attorneys across the United States. LegalHub also offers Q&A forums, legal resources, and intake tools that help match users with attorneys by practice area and location.

By accessing or using LegalHub’s websites, apps, or services (collectively, the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you use the Service on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Supplemental terms may apply to certain features (e.g., premium attorney profiles, advertising, data integrations) and will be presented when you enroll in those features.

2) Eligibility & Accounts

  • Minimum Age. You must be at least 18 to use the Service. The Service is not intended for children under 13.
  • Account Registration. Provide accurate information and keep it updated. You are responsible for all activity on your account and for safeguarding your credentials.
  • Attorneys & Firms. If you claim a profile or purchase a premium plan, you represent that you hold all necessary licenses and comply with applicable ethics rules and advertising regulations.
  • Representations. You represent and warrant that you (a) have not been barred from using the Service under applicable law, and (b) will comply with these Terms and applicable laws.

3) Our Services (Directory, Q&A, Matching)

LegalHub provides:

  • Attorney Directory & Profiles. A searchable directory of attorneys with profile pages, ratings, reviews, and contact information.
  • Legal Q&A & Resources. Public Q&A forums and educational resources for general informational purposes.
  • Smart Matching & Intake. Intake workflows that route user inquiries to relevant attorneys based on practice area, geography, and other factors.

Attorneys are independent third parties. LegalHub does not practice law, does not provide legal advice, does not create an attorney–client relationship, and does not guarantee any outcome. Matches are based on information you provide and our criteria, which may change.

5) User Content & Licenses

You may submit content such as reviews, Q&A posts, profile data, logos, or other materials (“User Content”). You retain ownership of your User Content, but grant LegalHub a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, transferable license to host, store, reproduce, adapt, modify for formatting, publish, publicly display, distribute, and otherwise use your User Content in connection with operating, improving, and marketing the Service. This license continues for as long as your content is displayed on or used to operate the Service, and for a commercially reasonable period thereafter for backup, archival, and audit purposes.

You represent and warrant that you have all rights necessary to grant the above license; your User Content is accurate and lawful; and your posting complies with these Terms.

We may remove or restrict User Content that we deem to violate these Terms or applicable law.

6) Acceptable Use

You agree not to do any of the following in connection with the Service:

  • Post unlawful, misleading, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, obscene, or infringing content, or content that violates attorney advertising or ethics rules.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation or credentials.
  • Scrape, spider, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service (except as allowed by robots.txt) or to harvest data including emails or phone numbers.
  • Reverse engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the Service or its security or integrity.
  • Upload malware or engage in activities that degrade performance or attempt to gain unauthorized access.
  • Offer or solicit bribes or compensation for reviews or endorsements; post fake, non-client, or biased reviews.
  • Collect, process, or store Protected Health Information (PHI) on the Service—we are not a HIPAA-compliant service.

7) Attorney Profiles, Reviews & Rankings

  • Profile Data. Attorneys are responsible for the accuracy of their profiles. We may display badges, reputation indicators, or trust scores based on activity, verified credentials, and community signals.
  • Reviews & Endorsements. Reviews must reflect genuine experiences and comply with applicable bar rules. We may moderate, filter, or remove reviews that violate policies.
  • Ranking & Placement. Search results and placement may consider relevance, completeness, engagement, location, user preferences, and paid enhancements. Paid options will not permit misleading claims.

8) Fees, Payments & Subscriptions

Certain features (e.g., premium profiles, advertising, lead delivery) require payment (“Paid Services”). Prices, billing cycles, and terms will be disclosed at purchase. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled.

  • Billing. You authorize us and our payment processors to charge your provided payment method for all fees due. Taxes may apply.
  • Cancellations. You may cancel future renewals at any time via your account settings; cancellations take effect at the end of the current term.
  • No Refunds. Except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable.
  • Leads & Intake. Lead volume and quality may vary. LegalHub does not guarantee any number of leads, conversions, or outcomes.

9) Consent to Communications (SMS/Email/Autodialer)

By providing contact information, you consent to receive communications from LegalHub and participating attorneys, including emails, text messages (SMS/MMS), calls (which may use autodialers or prerecorded messages), and in-product notifications regarding your inquiries, account, and marketing. Message/data rates may apply. You can opt out of marketing texts at any time by replying STOP; for emails, use the unsubscribe link. Transactional or service-related messages may still be sent.

10) Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and share information. If you do not agree with the Privacy Policy, do not use the Service.

For users outside the U.S., you consent to processing in the U.S. and other countries where we or our service providers operate.

11) Intellectual Property; DMCA

The Service, including all software, designs, logos, and content (excluding User Content), is owned by LegalHub or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

DMCA Notices

If you believe content infringes your copyright, send a notice to our DMCA Agent with:

  • Your physical or electronic signature;
  • Identification of the copyrighted work and the allegedly infringing material;
  • Contact information;
  • Your statement of good-faith belief that the use is not authorized; and
  • Your statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

12) Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice (e.g., by posting the updated Terms or sending an email). Changes take effect upon posting unless otherwise stated. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

13) Third-Party Services & Links

The Service may link to third-party websites, products, or services. We do not control or endorse them and are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your dealings with third parties are solely between you and the third party.

14) Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEGALHUB DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, QUIET ENJOYMENT, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that results will meet your requirements.

15) Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEGALHUB AND ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT WILL LEGALHUB’S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO LEGALHUB IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (B) $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; some of the above may not apply to you.

16) Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless LegalHub and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any law or third-party rights; or (e) any dispute between you and an attorney or other third party.

17) Binding Arbitration; Class Action Waiver

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. It requires you to arbitrate disputes with LegalHub and limits the manner in which you can seek relief from us.

  • Agreement to Arbitrate. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules.
  • Opt-Out. You may opt out of arbitration by sending written notice to legal@legalhub.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Your notice must include your name, contact information, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration.
  • Class Action Waiver. YOU AND LEGALHUB AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
  • Venue & Fees. Unless the arbitrator requires otherwise, the arbitration will be conducted by video or in a location reasonably convenient to you. Each party will pay its own fees, subject to applicable AAA rules and the arbitrator’s authority to reallocate fees as permitted by law.
  • Exceptions. Either party may seek relief in small claims court for qualifying claims or seek injunctive or equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or prevent unauthorized access or use of the Service.

18) Governing Law; Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Subject to the arbitration requirements above, the exclusive venue for any action not subject to arbitration will be the state or federal courts located in New Castle County, Delaware, and you consent to jurisdiction there.

19) Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, remove content, or take other actions if we believe you have violated these Terms, applicable law, or pose risk to the Service or users. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including, without limitation, Sections 4–5 and 11–19).

20) Miscellaneous

  • Entire Agreement. These Terms and any applicable supplemental terms constitute the entire agreement between you and LegalHub.
  • Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be severed and the remaining provisions will remain in full force.
  • No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver.
  • Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms.
  • Export & Sanctions. You agree to comply with U.S. export control and sanctions laws.
  • Beta Features. Beta or trial features are provided “as is” and may be modified or discontinued at any time.
  • Headings. Headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
